Reclaimed Timber Woodworking Workshop

Embark on a unique woodworking experience creating your own spatula out of reclaimed wood.

This class takes place at a timber shop that uses reclaimed timber brought in from the public, giving second-hand wood resources a new life and diverting timber from going to landfill.

Your wood expert hosts, Luke or Liz, will lead an introductory woodwork class on hand tools, timber, and woodworking (no experience is required). You will learn:

• About this unique organisation’s mission
• Select second-hand timber and understand its qualities
• Learn about grain direction and how to work with it
• Use shaping and finishing hands tools effectively
• Gain knowledge of general safety in woodworking

Please note:

• There is an element of physicality involved and most of the work is carried out standing up
• Closed-toe shoes must be worn 
• This experience is open to people 13 years and older. Kids 13-15 years old must attend with a guardian
